According to the Chicago Tribune, the 55-year-old rapper, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, was found guilty of three charges of child pornography. According to the site, the minimum sentence for each crime is 10 years in prison.

Following a three-week trial that featured testimony from one of R. Kelly’s claimed victims of sexual assault, their deliberation got underway. The lady, who requested anonymity, testified that the artist assaulted her when she was 14 and recorded the encounter.

One of the five reports that the Chicago native’s accuser allegedly had with Kelly was one that the prosecution used to convict him. In the 1990s, the rapper of “I Believe I Can Fly” was charged with filming pornographic recordings with four of his five victims. His sentencing date hasn’t yet been made public.

Derrel McDavid, a former company manager and accountant, and Milton Brown, a former assistant, who were co-defendants with Kelly, were found not guilty of all charges after entering a not guilty plea.

For his part, McDavid was initially accused of conspiring to receive child porn, actually obtaining child porn, and conspiring to hinder the legal system. Brown was accused of plotting to obtain child pornography.

The Mann Act, a sex trafficking legislation that forbids the transportation of “any woman or girl” over state lines for “immoral purposes,” was also violated on eight occasions at the time of his conviction.
