Sheryl Lee Ralph is receiving love and congratulations from Beyoncé.
Following her historic Emmy victory on Monday night, the 65-year-old Ralph was presented with a sentimental bouquet of flowers by the 41-year-old singer of “Break My Soul,” which the actress shared on Instagram on Saturday.
In a video, the Abbott Elementary actress reads a note from Queen Bey inside a card that was linked to an arrangement of white and yellow flowers. The card says, “To the original Dreamgirl, offering you a beautiful congratulations.” Love to you, Beyoncé.
Ralph’s big break came in 1981 when she won a Tony Award for her performance in the Broadway classic Dreamgirls. Beyoncé starred in the show’s motion picture adaptation in 2006. Deena Jones was portrayed by both celebrities.
Ralph read the card and was stunned and speechless. She praised the bouquet, saying, “So lovely.

Ralph created history on Monday night at the 2022 Emmy Awards when she took home the award for best-supporting actress in a comedy series for her work in Abbott Elementary.
After Jackée Harry, who won 227 in 1987, the veteran of the profession became just the second Black woman to win an Emmy in the category. Ralph seemed to relish this achievement in her scene-stealing acceptance speech.

Ralph broke into song after reaching the stage to accept the honor from Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers, performing a stanza from the 1993 jazz classic “Endangered Species” by jazz vocalist Diane Reeves.
She sang, holding out a few phrases for emphasis as the names of people she wished to thank flashed across the screen, “I am an endangered species, but I sing no victim song. I am a female artist and I am aware of where my voice belongs.
