Season 1 of Yellowjackets backstage attention to detail, according to Melanie Lynskey
In anticipation of Yellowjackets’ upcoming second season on Showtime, Melanie Lynskey shares the same enthusiasm as the viewer.
The 45-year-old first-time nominee for an Emmy said Saturday at Paramount’s pre-Emmy party that the smash show’s second season, which is now in production, has “ramped up.”
“Woo! was just heard in Episode 2. like, insane It’s a lot of fun. It’s a lot of fun, “She gushed.

She continued, “And the first season, I was a little nitpicky about consistency and little stuff like that. People became a little irritated with me after saying, “Well, how about this thing that happened previously, therefore shouldn’t this thing happen now?”
Now that the fans are paying such close attention, Lynskey continued, “I feel justified because if we don’t do this, it’s going to be all over Reddit,” to which the response was “Oh, okay.”
In Yellowjackets, Lynskey plays Shauna, a lady with a terrible secret who has lived for 25 years in the Canadian wilderness with her high school soccer team after surviving a plane accident.
Lynskey responded, “I trust the writers. I know it’s a boring answer, but I feel like whatever they do is going to be so much greater than what I’ve imagined because in the first season that was definitely true,” when asked what she expects to see in season 2.
I’ll do this show as long as I can, she continued, so I don’t know. Whatever they want, I’m game.
The Yellowjackets actress, who is New Zealand-born, is up for her first Emmy in the best lead actress in a drama series category.
About the honor, she exclaimed, “I’m very excited.” “In all honesty, it has already exceeded my highest expectations. Nothing will change to make it better. I have no goals in mind. I adore the other females in my group. Simply said, I think I could argue much more persuasively for any of them than I could for myself. It relieves some of the pressure. The evening is going to be fantastic.”
